Everyone knows that Christmas is the time to sing LOUD. all those fabulously cheesy christmas songs... they ROCK! and theres no shame in bopping along, so no excuses!
Ive gotta hold up the UK flag here and say, we've got some pretty killer christmas songs. I mean, yeah everyone knows frosty the snowman... but hello NODDY HOLDER?! the guys a freaking legend! not to mention the pogues, slade, wham and of course... the band aid song. We clean up on the festive songs! Then theres the gazillion "funny ones" that come out every year, only to rapidly disappear into the relms of how on EARTH did that get to number one?!?
Not that i want to highlight any particular shockers... but does anyone remember when Bo Selecta was big on tv?? Proper ChrimBO - ring any bells?!?! GAH it was truly awful... And then theres the cheeky girls and all the other wannabe faux-singers out there who had a pop at making a penny on a christmas jingle... dont give up the dayjob folks!
but according to my Christmas Challenge List i have to pick a FAVOURITE....
Ooooh its a toughie. But theres one that always kindof sticks out to me (apart from the classics-which its too hard to choose from) And that is the Spice Girls "christmas wrapping".... i was a BIG spice girls fan back in my youth, so this was the natural choice!
Its full-on cheese on toast cringe, but youve gotta love abit of that come christmas time! So there you go... my fave christmas song. Perhaps a tad shameful, but its a TOTALLY worthwhile guilty pleasure and im not afraid to say that im sat here humming along to it right now.......
