So im not exactly on track with times and days anymore, but i JUST realised that its the 25th of August today....
Which meeeeeeans - its only ONE MONTH till i leave for AUSTRALIAAAAA!!!!
yeeshk, thats kinda scary! Altho technically its a month (4 weeks) on weds, but all that 30 days in september, april may and november... yada yada ya. i forget the rhyme.
ANYHOO. how fitting was it that today i had arranged to meet up with a friend of a friend, who has just come back from travelling. She is sort of loosely part of our friendship group in that she is friends with friends of mine, but we havent ever really "hung out". But she is like besties with my friend J. Soooo, we have been in contact over email while she was away, cos she was giving me advice on australi (she went travelling there for a year too) and you can imagine my delight when she decided to come home earlier than planned - in August instead of November! yipeeeeee!!! so she arrived back last week, so naturally we decided to meet up (dragging J along too for fun) so that we could discuss travels and generally catch up and do the whole gossipy girly chat :)
it was AWESOME! i feel sooooo excited to go now. a little nervous (the talk about hostels and shared showers was a bit of an EEK moment :s) but generally, im all fired up and ready to roll. And since she is back and doesnt have a job yet, we're gonna hang out again for sure. alot of our friends are teachers, so they go back to work in the next week or so (teachers eh!) so we are going to be ex-teacher hangout buddies till i go... plus she said she will prime me ready to go, like hooking me up with some of her contacts over there and generally getting me feeling confident and ready so that i can face all the challenges that come with travelling to a foreign country a gazillion miles away from home. thank god! clearly i have much to learn :p
On top of that, i boshed another challenge food. I am on it like a car bonnet at the mo!!! Mainly cos i KNOW i have to step up and gain weight and lose the fear... Like nows-ville. Soooo we went to m&s for lunch and i got a turkey, emmental and pastrami flatbread and instead of freaking out cos it has cheese in it... i just took OUT the cheese. Easy! i didnt stress that there was dairy contaminating my food, cos even tho i DO have to be careful, im not so allergic that even TOUCHING cheese is going to make me ill, its only an intolerance when i eat it. So that was pretty scary/awesome. Oh and since i have gradually been trying to introduce little bits of dairy into my diet (i have tried certain products which contain small amounts of milk/dairy - like nutrigrain bars or the odd biscuit etc to try and acclimatise my body) today i decided to stop beating around the bush and i had some of my friends cake. yes people... regular CAKE!!!!! i was well impressed with myself and it was a good step cos i want to be able to eat my OWN piece of cake very soon.
so basically
TAKE THAT ANOREXIA!!!
you dont own this girl no more... Bahhahahaha :p
Im not going to let it interrupt my day so i have kept occupied and altho i have a bit of tummy discomfort, its not going to kill me so i am pushing the negative thoughts that im going to be ill and focusing on staying strong :) So on that note. SEE YA'S LATERRRR xx
