home sweet home :-)

Im baaaack!

and just a little embarassed to say....... i missed you guys!
i missed reading thru all your blogs and gaining wisdom and encouragement from your posts and messages. it was definitly a challenging week, but im proud to say i coped!
Half of me is saying... Durr, as if coping going away for a week is a big deal.

but for me...
right now...
It is!

Anyway, i had an absolutely fantastic time! i cant even describe how much i missed the feeling of being so high up in the mountains, breathing in clean crisp air and feeling the sun beat down on my face while being surrounded by crystal white snow.... amazing :-)
as promised i have been snappy happy with my pics (sometimes risking my poor little camera's life as i dangled off a chair lift trying to shoot a mountan with padded ski gloves on!!) but i got some goodies, altho ill apologise right now if some of them are abit samey, its very hard to see what you are shooting when you've got goggles on!!!!

Had to stop myself skiing off the edge here!

I managed to hog most of this attempted backdrop shot... oops

My purdy snowboard :-)
what a princess (bit worried about her dislocated neck tho!)
My attempts to stay upright.... (didnt last long!)

Funny lookin cloud...

Spot the weirdo hiker man in the corner...
why would you climb a mountain when you can catch a nifty little chairlift?!?

As for food, i tried, really i did..... I found it alot harder than i thought i would. I imagined id be up for eating anything cos i knew that i was burning it all off. but i still found that you cant run away from your problems.... sure you can take the girl away from her safety net, but it doesnt mean that your issues wont still follow. Im pleased that i managed to eat out and try different foods, alot of which i would NEVER normally try at home, but i wish i could've let go abit more with my eating.... not worried so much or over-thought what foods i would have.

Still, i managed to cross off some of my fear foods.... just check out this badboy!!!

And going out to alpine restaurants for dinner
(sorry no foody photos - they think us english are weird enough already!)

Still, my challenges are still just that, challenges. Just cos i pushed myself to do a few things, does not mean i am out of the woods. i am still dangerously underweight, so much so that some poeple would argue i shouldnt have been going on such a high risk holiday like skiing at all.
But i did it, and i loved it.... it made me more ware of my body and my limitations and just like the chairlifts that slowly climb there way up the mountain to the top, im still just starting out on my road to better health....

Im so glad i took this trip, it made me think about alot of things that are going on in my life at the moment.... my priorities and my expectations.
Have you ever had a moment where everything suddelnly seems very clear, and you feel peaceful? i know this was probably a 'holiday moment' but i feel much calmer now, almost ready to take on new things.... i hope it lasts!!!

Cos i know this recovery will take time, and there will probably be setbacks, but i will prepare for the unexpected. I know now what i have to do, this holiday especially has taught me to aim for the sky, anything is possible when you put your mind to it...
its all about climbing your own personal mountain, and one day, i'll reach the top.

Hopefully when i get there, the sun will be shining :-)

Anyway lovelies, I hope you've all had a brilliant week! Its good to be back :-)

xxxxxx

  1. hola mi amigo!

thanks for your comment - it does seem like we have a fair amount in common, save for the fact that I don't have much artistickyness (that IS a word!)about me.

Glad you had an awesome time skiing, I've never been meself but it does look good!

Well done on eating out, and don't worry that you felt you could have done more, cos I think the first step is realising that there ARE fear foods that you are scared of - it took me aaaaages to admit that some foods were too scary, I just convinced myself that I didn't feel like eating them or didn't like them!

Enjoy the rest of your easter break relaxing (and sunbathing with a massive hoodie on - it is the in-thing I promise!) before back to school :) i used my detective skills and figured out you must teach at a private school cos you have over 3 weeks off?! that's more than I get at uni! :p
