Morning All....
Lets just take a moment to remember my beloved converse....
So pretty :)
because sadly, after a weekend at a muddy festival....
(which luckily wasnt QUITE as bad as this pic of glastobury a few years ago...)
have ended up looking more like THIS...
no longer their original pink colour.
Ahhh.
i should've listened...
i should've packed some of these badboys...
uk festivals = mud...
FACT
:p
But never mind!! I still had an awesome time... We set off on friday morning, my friend Jess was driving, so after a few "eek - i think i forgot this that or the other" moments - we were on our way! Until we got stuck in massive traffic and ended up sitting on the motorway for about two hours... Snoooore.
Still, we got there eventually and we were not disappointed! WOMAD festival (world of music, art and dance) is like a smaller glastonbury... it felt so happy and safe. there were lots of young people around and definitely lots of smiley happy people - including us!!!haha.
Friday night saw us hit up the dance tent...
jumping about and catching bubbles...
It was a mad night!!
Then on Saturday, we mooched about the site...
looked around the millions of stalls...
...and got some food (obvs!)
vegan chilli & rice - YUM.
I didnt take a whole load of pics, mainly cos there was ZERO phone signal so i didnt have my phone out that much. But in a way im glad - cos it meant i soaked up the atmosphere of the festival without being a total camera-whore :p
I was really glad that my friend Jess came with me, she helped me to push myself out of my comfort zone in terms of ED habits and i just felt much "freer". I always find it easier to cope when im not at home - surrounded by my ED habits and routines... but it gave me a taste of how life could be if i just let it - and i liked that....
BUT now its back to reality and i have to keep that ball rolling... I know i can enjoy life and so thats what im doing! Its a very new and sometims quite scary feeling. But im finally letting go of the control and the anxiety that used to dictate my life... i dont feel stressed and edgy like i did when i felt like i had to "be" somewhere or "do" something all the time. im letting time flow by without trying to control every minute of it. Im not wasting life, like my ED made me believe... im SAVOURING it! Sure it can be frustrating that im not recovered already and i cant just GO. But then i remember that there's no need to rush!
rediscovering my health and happiness isnt a race....
its a journey
:)
