Afternoonie!

I am back in chirpsome mode after another lovely warm sunny day. HAHA, i feel like sticking my tongue out childishly at those silly weathermen who said it was gonna rain all day, there was a little shower earlier but otherwise we're talking hot hot hot! and i am SUCH a happier person when its sunny outside.... even when im stuck in the unit, its all good!! And Ive been using the fact that im stuck there all day as a chance to get my reading head on....

im still working out how to feel comfortable just sitting with a book!
it might take a while!!

I used to love reading when i was younger (ok, so it was mainly chick-lit, holiday stylee trashy books) but still, its reading! But since i got ill, sitting and reading seemed like an indulgence and a lazy one at that. So it got pushed aside in favour of doing something more "productive"... well sod that! If im gonna crack these feelings of undeserving-ness, then i need to start doing things to challenge it whenever i can, Ive forgotten what i actually LIKE doing in my free-time cos ive got so used to denying myself anything "nice", so im on a journey of rediscovery... its hard and im still not able to do it at home or when i have FREE free-time (as in not in the unit) but its a step towards getting there... and while i AM in the unit and surrounded by not the most exciting of environments, ill read away :-)

Plus ive found a secret little patch of grass round the side of the front parking area. Sure, its next to the recyling bins and the cars are parked right next to me... but its got sunlight and grass and nobody pesters me :-)

...ill take it!

As far as unit stuff goes, it was a quiet day. Mainly cos there wasnt as much drama as usual! Two of the others were out and it was the dieticians week off, so we had this other dietician who came in a few weeks ago (she's french) and she was really cool. Its nice to have another perspective on mealplans and stuff. She was still straight talking and to the point (is that a pre-requisite for being a dietician?! "MUSTNT take any crap from patients..." haha. i guess its a good thing with ED patients right!?) So that was good. Plus now that the weathers picking up, we are allowed to have a "salad" lunch once a week. which is so much nicer than the endless fozen readymeals. We get a WHOPPING portion of fish or meat or cheese and then a teeny bit of lettuce/tomato etc and then pasta salad, couscous and other bits and bobs. Its good, cos it makes me see that maybe the salads that I make, arent quite making the grade like i thought they were :-p but my god, the full portion (which me and the staff get, the other patients there are on half or 3/4 portions) was huge! like literally about two cans of tuna!!! i felt like my mouth was dry as anything after that....

Back at work tomo and its getting verrrrry close to the end of term now! Im also super excited cos ive finally booked my america flights... IM COMING TO THE US BABAAAAAY!!!!

classy toilet shot of my summer outfit!

The olympic torch is coming to our town tomo, as exciting as it is... i just KNOW the roads are gonna be chockablock and i imagine that means loads of kids will be late to school... MEH, lesson postponing?! im not complaining!!! im not gonna brave the crowds tho, its right at the time that i should be getting into work, so i dont wanna get caught up and then be late... thats not the best example! But i might watch it back on the tv later.... have any of you fellow UK'ers seen the torch yet? i had no idea you get to keep it after you've done your walk with it! apparently there's already one selling on ebay!!

crazy days people.... crazy days
:-p
