hello tuesday people....
This week is flying by! and im feeling all smiles :-)
Had my appt with my new dietician yest and it went well!!! it was a touch and go moment, cos apparently they thought id cancelled it (i hadnt) and so she wasnt sure if i was coming... which meant we didnt have a whole lot of time, but what we did have helped immensely!
I wont drag out all the details cos i feel like this blog s getting a little too swamped in ED related matters (altho, saying that this kindof is my life at the moment!) but anyway i talked through my fears that i havent been able to make up my own mind as to what to eat and when and she gave me a set MP which tells me what to have and how much with a little guide box and stuff, so its all user-friendly! i really needed to be spoon-fed on this one, cos i was finding it so hard to just EAT intuitively, i need someone to start me off and then i will recognise what is normal eating again... im pleased to say im already doing better! Ive stuck to my plan and im not really struggling that much (she did put me on a basic 'plan A' diet to start me off gently, then i go up to the 'scarier sounding' plan B, which has alot more food and some fear challenges) but i think i can do this. its just doing what im told.... right?!?!
So in other topics, exam week is going swimmingly... its day two and ive already read half of my new book!! this is way more fun than regular teaching :-p
Im reading 'my sisters keeper' which is a sad tale about a girl with leaukeamia and how her sister was conceived in order to provide her with all the cells, transplants etc that she needed to live. its pretty intense, but good! Appently it was recently made into a film with cameron diaz?
Has anyone read the book/seen the film? If so, what did you think?
(no spoilers please, i havent finished it yet!!!)
I actually think the pupils prefer exam week to normal school, theres a buzz going around whenever they get out of the exam hall and everyone seems to be in high spirits, so it cant all be bad! I used to like exams, theres something exciting about opening a fresh exam paper and writing your name at the top before you start.... maybe this is where my freakish love of filling out questionnaires started?!
What were you like at school?
Were you an A Grade Exam Lover or a Detention Bound Revision Avoider?!?

Its funny how so much pressure is put on kids taking exams these days, and in the long run... how often do we ever end up using the pointless information they pumped us full of?! (except for art of course, cos that is a GOLDEN subject that obviously shapes the person you become in future life, yada yada yada, shamless self-promotion ahem, sorry!)

Sounds like your dietician person is useful? To start with it made it waaaay easier when someone else had the responsibility of telling me what to eat. Trust them cos they know what they're doing, and they're in charge!!
ReplyDeleteoh and I'd make sure your parents/ family know what u should be having so whenever you struggle there's someone there who can support and help you stay on track.
I'm glad you get to have a nice relaxing week! just feel sorry for the exam boards who have to deal with all the work :P
Ive read my sisters keeper, and watched the film.... it's reeeeeally good, but I wont give anything away i promise, i shall keep schtum!
Keep up plan 'a'! you are doing so well :D
love

I remember when i did my A levels, I only revised for one subject and it's the one I did worst in!!! Saying that, the others were, art, design and business studies...
ReplyDeleteHope your sticking to your food plan! We'll help you when it comes to Plan B don't worry - lots of motivational speeches planned : )

My Sister's Keeper is amazing - both the book and the film, though of course the book is much better :) enjoy!
ReplyDeleteMy first 3 years of secondary school were spent in detention or outside the head's office. Then I buckled down and devoted my time to topping the class. So I ended up with perfect grades, but my last 4 years weren't nearly as fun!
