confusion!

Hey there sunday pumpkins,

Another post from me... i know right, whats this?! its only been a DAY since i posted, do i really have more to write about?! well, truthfully... not really! but since i thought today was gonna be a super busy day and it ended up being mostly about the sitting and waiting around, i have time to fill you in on the deets. So, shall i explain?! oh, GO on then :p

So today i was supposed to be meeting up with my travel buddy after yesterday got rescheduled... She wanted to get here early to avoid traffic and was originally planning at leaving at 8am to arrive by 10:30ish, but i was like "whoaaa there speedypants!" and suggested it might be an idea to make it abit later (what?! i like me some sunday morning lie-in time... is that a crime?!) And anyways, i knew there was a half-marathon taking place in town this morning, so the roads would be closed till about 11ish anyways. Sooo, we agreed to meet at around 12ish instead. Id get a lie-in, but id still have to get up and get my shizz together in reasonable time - no lazing about till midday for this one :p

I headed out at half 11, so i cud get to town in good time and mooch about the shops... but as i was window-shopping i got a text to say she was stuck in serious traffic cos of an accident and was delayed... Boo. I figured i still had plenty of shop-browsing in me, i'll take any excuse to have a good shop! so it wasnt too bad. But after an hour or so i got bored and went to sit in a coffee shop with the sunday papers! Next disaster was her car breaking down... GAH! what was even more annoying, was that after driving for almost 3hours she was only about 45 mins away!!! 

But sadly, that was that... she had to wait for a repair person to come out and fix her up so that she could essentially turn around an drive home again :( After the previous car troubles the day before, i really dont envy her her bad luck with cars :s

I waited for abit to hear whether she could get moving again and in the meantime, spent quite a nice hour in the library reading a book i picked up!!! (one of my challenges is to sit and read a book in public - its a pleasure i dont allow myself cos my ED tells me that if im out i should be MOVING) So that was a good thing! Anyways, after that i decided that since today clearly wasnt gonna go to plan, id cut my losses and head home. Just in the nick of time as it started raining about 10mins after i got in!

Im still bummed that i didnt get to have my nice travel-planning lunch, but i still managed to entertain myself for the best part of the day instead of moping about... so i wont be down about it. Oh and i even popped into this vintage thing that my mum asked me to check out for her.

Unfortunatly it turned out to be just a one-off pop-up tea-room, not anything properly vintage at all! (unless you count doilies and victoria sponge particularly vintage!) So no clothes and therefore no real point in terms of helping mum out.... but never mind. I did my bit by going to find it anyways :p

Now im home, im wrapping up my pressies for the roomie to open when she gets home... Ive put out some decorations and a birthday slice of her fave carrot cake on the kitchen table - ready to surprise her with on her return....

Aww! see, i TOLD you i loved birthdays!!!! Now i just need her to get home and blow out the candle (yes, i could only find one!) so we can celebrate in style :)
