BUSEEEEEEY BEE!
Wowzers, its been one hell of a morning... ive been running around like a madwoman!
Im glad i didnt have to get up and leave at 4am like the mumatron tho, i seriously dont know how she does it.... they say the early bird catches the worm, but do they see this bird at 8pm when she comes home exhausted and ready to drop?! i think not!

cream cakes are nicer than worms. FACT
Anyhoo's, i got up at a much more respectable 8am and started the day off by doing my stretches (which i am still trying to convince myself to stop.... cos i know its not healthy to feel like i have to do it and its probs not even doing any difference to my overall body tone... i mean, the world will NOT end if i dont "work my core" right!?! BUT what might just happen is that i gain abit of weight, get a healthier more relaxed mindframe and STOP OBSESSING about it!!!)
What do you think? Do you have any "routines" that you need to do, even tho you know that it is obsessive and you shouldn't be doing it?? i need some support on this one...
and why is it ALWAYS the stomach/abs that us girlies stress about? cos rock hard abs arent exactly hot with a side of skinny legs, gaunt face and stick arms are they... yet i STILL get up early and do my little "routine", not necessarily cos i want to, but cos i feel like i should.
Its the same with my walking... i feel like i have to get out and do something or i feel edgy. Case in point: this morning i took the dog out as per. But instead of a nice relaxing walk, letting her sniff other dogs pee stops (what can i say, she's a Classy Beehatch!) and generally enjoying the fresh morning air... I powerwalked, fast = better in ED's opinion. Plus i had an excuse... i had to get back in time to get ready for my doctors appt.
Yes, an "excuse"... ED's quick to dole those out. Make me feel like what im doing isnt wrong. But i know that what WOULD have been sensible, would be to just have a shorter, more relaxed walk and then go home with plenty of time.... but oh no, i wanted to cover the same distance that i usually would, stupid i know. but hey, this illness makes you do silly things.
When i came home, again i told myself that that was that. enough on the exercise front. i needed to chill the eff out. But would that last?? evidentally not, cos even tho ive been distracted all morning running around and being busy - which counts as exercise! im home now and what a surprise.... i wanna go for a walk.
The doctors appt was ok, i had to do a check up and stuff on my T's advice. Spoke with the doc abit and she said since i was still walking alot and still underweight, i might aswell do a chest xray to make sure my heart was still ok, plus some blood tests etc.... which i could do at the general hospital, which closed in just over an hour. SHEEEEEESH!
So off i went, my imaginary skates were on :-) First stop, find the post office where my magical BT "this should fix your dodgy internet" parcel had been re-delivered and pick it up... (cue alot of half-driving, half-postoffice spotting, then almost driving past, pulling a screechy u-turn in the middle of the busy road and parking on double yellows!!)
Oh yeah, i live life on the EDGE!
:-p
When id got that, it was full speed to the hospital.... which ironically, has the tiniest carpark known to mankind. cos NOBODY ever needs to park at a hospital do they?!? EEJITS.
finally got a space and had to pay almost £5 cos the stupid machine didnt give change. i hate pay and display, they eat your money and suck your soul.... and they look so UGLY! they shud make pretty ones, then maybe we wouldnt despise them so much :-p (hey, i only said maybe!)

This would make a VAST difference to my mood!
I got into the bloods area and there were no more cards in the rack, which meant they werent seeing any more patients... WTF?!?!?!
It was only just after 11am and they werent supposed to close till 12... so me in my typical bolshy way, knowcked on the door and asked "whats up with that??!!" Grumpy nurse gave me a card and i happily joined the back of the Q. MwaHaHahaHaa!
Well, if you dont ask, you wont get!!!
Blood done, off i trot to the Xray dept. (this place is a MAZE i tells ya!) Sat and took my place again, before being asked to "slip into something more comfortable".... HAHA! not really, i had to put on one of the "rank looking, bum-flashing, how many weirdo's have worn this, i certainly HOPE they put these on a hot wash" hospital gowns. Oh yeah, they sure as hell dont make these with fashion in mind!
excuse the lack of make-up/bad lighting/EXTREMELY blue curtain!!
Tick tock, Tick tock.....
Shoot, my car park is going to expire....
If i get a ticket after all this, im gonna be PISSED!!!
Ah, its my turn. FINALLY.
and it took literally all of 60 seconds for them to do the X-ray, not that im complaining! But there you go. Out i go, skipping past all the half-zombied patients waiting in the naff, old fashioned, hasnt been updated since the 60's waiting room. I swear, this hospital is the most depressing place ever. The big shiny new one where i go for my usual blood/gastro/M.E appts is waaay nicer! even if the specialist heamotology dept that i have to go to IS right next to the chapel of rest... Luckily i have a dark sense of humour! :-p
Now im finally home and wondering what to do with myself. I wish i could just switch my brain off and chill.... i end up watching the clock just waiting to time to pass. This is why i am sooo much better when im out having fun and forgetting about "stuff". Its almost like when im not alone with my illness, its not a problem... its just when we're alone. so what am i gonna do??
Im gonna turn the radio up LOUD!!! hehehe.
anyway, you're never alone really....
(and to prove that point, the pooch has just woken up and dragged her rag toy over)
what a demanding little madam!!!
Shame she's just TOO damn cute to resist :-p
Later Skaters!

I dont think id want to walk if i cud skate with these badboys!

So it sounds like even though you had the urge to go for a second walk, you didn't go! GOOD for you!!! Being busy helps me with reducing the urge to. If I'm doing something else I can distract myself and end up not going. Also, I totally relate to how bad ed gets when we're alone with him. We need hobbies hobbies hobbies! : ) I've decided to take up knitting, so I'm planning to go yarn shopping today like an old granny...haha! How do you distract yourself when you're home with ed? It's so hard, believe me! Maybe brainstorming ideas would be helpful though...at this point ANYTHING is better than exercising for both of us.
ReplyDeleteKeep fighting, girlie! I hope your test results come back flawless : ).
