afternoon peoples.... hope today is treating you well! :-)
i havent posted in a while firstly cos ive been SUPAH busy (we had an open day at school on sat and then i had work on sun and now im back at school for, well, the school week..... ahh, the life of a stressed out teacher!) and secondly, ive been feeling a bit blue of late.
now this is not just your average, "man life sucks, im tired and overworked, bla blah blah..." kindof blue, but more of the "man life sucks, im tired and overworked and i just cant seem to kick this damn ED out of my head and start living my life like the sane, person i am...." kind.
anyone out there know what i mean??!?!
I didnt want to post in a down-ish mood so ive waited it out and... altho im still fighting this battle with my ED voices, im in a more positive state of mind today. so here i am! yays.
Anyway, today was a good day at school, im making real progress with my 'difficult' yr 7's. ive got them started on the aboriginal art project so they've got abit more involved with drawing out symbols and making up stories, so they were kept occupied and reasonably under control!!! (long may it last) other than that i had my nice GCSE'ers, who are desperatly trying to get their coursework done before they head off on study leave next week. im gonna miss those guys!!
they were all excitable today cos they've got their leavers prom on friday night and theyre all planning the afterparties... its gonna be messy! i got a few invites of "will you be my date miss..." which i had to sadly decline (yeah right! you wouldnt catch me ending up in the papers for having relations with a pupil... no thankyoooou!) but its sweet to see them all giggly, teenage boys are just like big puppies really :-p
Other than that its been a pretty standard day... ive been feeling bad cos ive been snapping at my mum alot lately, just about little things that have been really annoying me (usually things that interfere with my routine...)
does anyone else find that they get really moody when their routine is messed up??
I hate that this has such a prfound effect on my mood, but i know its probably the lack of control over that particular situation... This is something i really want to work on when i get my therapist sorted, cos lets face it. you cant control every aspect your life... there will always be unforseen circumstances that pop up now and again. i dont want to be dictated to by ED's rules and regulations... I want to be spontaneous and do spur of the moment things without worrying that it will mess with my 'planned' day!
On the upside, good old aunt flo came to visit this morn, so that does explains some of the moodiness :-p but this just reminds me that because im on the pill, these are true periods. hence my doc has asked me to go for a bone density scan to see if i have any thinning in my bones :-s has anyone out there been for one of these??? what does it involve? is there any bone prodding?!?!?! (that sounds WAAAY too wrong to be written, but its out there now. no takie backies! :-p
hope you have a lovely evening wherever you are...
(or if its not the evening with you, good morning, good afternoon or goodnight!)

Welcome back stranger! I have missed you!
ReplyDeleteSorry things have been hard. Plus it sounds like you have been worked off your feet!
I know what you mean about HATING change to routine - just remember it's not you it's e.d, so don't beat yourself up about it, cos I'm sure that naturally you are a much more easy going person!
My doctor kept trying to get me to have a DXA bone scan but I wasnt keen cos I knew I wanted to get better anyway, so knowing about my bones wasnt gonna make any difference. Plus my period came back at a bmi of 14 lol so it wasnt considered essential... but thats just my personal opinion...
hope you feel better my dear, and hopefully the nhs'll sort themselves out and get you a therapist SOON!!

Hi there Clemmy - i totally understand what it is like to get upset when your routine is changed - i hate change and feel like i am just out of control!!! BUt I guess this is part of my Ed and slowly I cam trying to change that - one day at a time!!!
ReplyDeleteI have had a bone density test - it is the easiest test you will ever have to go for!!!! THe machine doesn't even touch you - all you have to do is lay there for about 10 minutes - simple no needles or anything!!!!
Any other questions you can contact me anytime!!!!
Hope u have a better day - lol aimee
