Ahh the week is well and truly underway. Mondays slip by in a haze of crazy running around, but its always tuesdays when i realise the week has begun. weird...
yest was a weird one. i had one of my fave classes of yr 9's but the usually chilled happy campers, were all grumpy and glum. one boy who's usually sweet and funny got really arsey when he discovered id given him an A/B for a piece of work... now hes usually an A to A* pupil, so i expected a certain level from him (natch!) i thought this piece of work was slightly below average and he got sooo stressed out and started saying he was gonna not take art for GCSE and how i was his fave teacher and now he was so disappointed.... guilt trip much?!?!?!?!
i mean c'mon, when did an A/B become a bad grade?!? i thought it was pretty fair!
Anyway. that kindof ruined the class for me, party pooper :-p
Today has been a day of mainly GCSE classes, and my god do i have to push those boys! They dont seem to realise that this is their second to last week of prep time before they sit their practical exam!!! I keep trying to hammer it home that when this time is up, theyve got to produce a final piece within 10hour timed exam conditions! oh well. i can only try.... (oh and set lunchtime detentions to make them come and work!)
Ahh, what is it they say....
" with great power comes great resposibility..."
I love being a teacher! <3
Today i felt more confident with my food choices too. Im started to get better at eating in front of people, now having my lunch in the art room while i help some of the pupils doing extra work. I find it easier to push myself to eat 'normal' foods when there are people around that will see what im having. the pupils can be pretty blunt sometimes and will not hesitate to say "what are you eating miss?" so its easier if i just have a ham sandwich or something regular.
Im still finding it hard to fit in enough cals during the day tho. I always end up needing to eat more at night, which makes me feel all full and bloated before bed, which i HATE. i need to try and organise my day better so that i can snack regularly without feeling bad.
I feel like i know im doing the right thing, but i need to keep myself consistent with gaining... not be afraid to eat more and to eat bad things. Once ive got more comfortable with eating more, im going to try introducing more challenges. fear foods, eating out, drinking etc.
i think part of the social aspect of going out has been hindered by my not really drinking alcohol anymore. I know its better for me, but i can still go out without drinking and even if i do have a drink now and again, surely its not going to do me any serious damage or mess with my medication to a massive extent?! I mean i cant be good all the time!
I watched the boat that rocked on dvd last night, it was sooo funny! I have a serious old man crush on bill nighy. he's just so old skool cool. (i loved him in love actually) he is such an ageing rocker... plus it was nice to see mum enjoying a film too, usually she doesnt like the kindof cheesy rom-com, modern humour type things that i like, but she was cracking up in this one. I guess cos shes a sixties baby at heart, she can relate to the times...

It made me think about how you can make the most of any situation you are faced with. these guys were living on a boat in the middle of the sea!! but they had such a great time. all different characters, all responsible for this pirate rock radio station... genius! it made me want to go into radio, i mean i LOVE chris moyles... people have said i can talk about nothing for hours and id def get used to the slumming it into work, not having to worry about what you look like! face for radio?!?!? ill give it a shot!
Still, until fearne cotton rings in sick and radio one need a quick stand-in... i think i better head back to reality. lessons to plan, homework to mark. blah blah blahhhhh :-)
