Hey there weekenders!
Hope you've been having a good'un... if im honest, since i finished work for summer on weds, i have slipped right back into not knowing what day of the week it is!!! Ahh the life of a teacher in school holidays. Im not gonna lie to you, its some good shizz :-p
Anyways, before i slide too quickly into the life of leisure! Im switching up my routine... I spoke before about my struggle with time-off and how it makes me question myself, i start thinking im lazy by not working/being busy and that affects my eating/exercise habits. Well, as predicted... i had a big old crash day yesterday.
It started off when i got up, dunno what time it was... i didnt really care, i had nothing to do! Then i wanted to have a nice breakfast with the mumatron, but as i dragged myself out of bed (NO STRETCHES by the way!!! im on day two of my "why the hell do i need to tone my abs, when i have nothing to tone there anyway?!" way of thinking.... and FYI, it rocks!) i do enjoy doing some yoga type abs/body work but there isnt much point stressing over it now! PLUS i hear that overdoing it is way unhelpful and you shud only do a max of 3x per week anyways... D'oh!
Yeah, so as i got up (sorry i rambled off again there!) mum calls up to say she is leaving for work... WHAAAA?!?! yup, i was late and she was on time. so off she went and i was a grumbling little madam, all stroppy and mardy cos id been left on my own with nobody to play with! Hahaha. (yes, i am a grown adult... no really, i AM!) Anyways, this spiralled into my mooching about, delaying my breakkie and generally feeling sorry for myself. im a wallower, i confess. But then i gave myself a mental kick up the bum and realised that this time off is for me to USE, not to ABUSE!!!! I know i suffer from "busybody-itis" in that im on the go all term at school and then the holidays come and BOOM, i dunno what to do with myself. But that is no excuse to procrastinate and self-pity! No siree. its in fact, a perfect opportunity to do something for myself.... RECOVERY!
So, i have identified my ED weakness, "feeling like i am redundant and dont have anything to do" and im counter-attacking it! Im planning my time more meticulously, im filling my holiday with fun and worthwhile things (do holidays count, HELL YEAH they do!!! and there's one particular trip that i literally cannot WAIT for! roll on august 1st!! :-p)
But starting tomo, i am heading off to my cousins house in the country to help look after her 4kids. Should be fun, except that the weather is doing this.....

and it doesnt look set to stop anytime soon (my weather forecast only goes upto 5days in advance and those 5 days all have little angry raindrops on them) Boooooo! But have no fear, it just looks like ill have to pull that "teacher thang" out the bag after all...! Yipeeeee.

So a week away from home will do me good i think. I need to get out of my ruts, my habits and my little ED routines. I need to put myself into a challenging situation and NAIL it this time. i want to have fun and play with my nieces without worrying if ive done the required amount of cardio, cos lets face it... Whats more important?!?! (no, ED i was not asking you!)
Im excited, im nervous, but better still.... im PACKED!!!! HAZAAAH! no lastminute "throw-stuff-in-a-bag" panic for this chick. im ready to rock that commuter filled rush hour train at 9am tomo morning. Gaah! i just hope i can scrounge a seat, fingers crossed peeps)
Anyways, i am taking my laptop so i will try and keep you all updated, that is if i haven't passed out on the floor with toddler-induced exhaustion!
Hope you have a fun-filled week ahead of you, and i hope to GOD its not raining like it is here with you!!! (i wore my welly boots today, i kid you not.... its that bad!)

did anyone else have these as a kid.... i LOVED mine!
(so much i even named them!) Shh :-p

Your blogs are such a lovely breath of fresh air. I know oyyou struggle but you do what I quite often try to do and wash over it with a bit of glitter, even when things feel truly shite. Its just like this raw honesty with a lovely sense of humour behind it ;) You seem absolutely wonderful :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a lovely week away and don't get too tired out! I know how much of a handful toddlers can be after looking after my bffs two year old!
