This afternoon i took the 'ped for a whirl... totally spontaneous! I came home as per usual on the bicycle but when i got home i remembered that we were supposed to have a meeting about the introduction of some ICT shizz next year, MEH... and it started in 10mins!!!!
Now normally id be like, "ooh no, im home now. i must stay and do all my usual after-work activities and have my snack and be SAMEY". Well not today! As much as id love to say it was my raging interest in the further development of ICT in my subject area...... but alas, that would be a big old LIE! it was more a case of wanting to get out of my usual routine... change things up abit, y'know....

And guess what, im glad i did!! Sadly not cos of the meeting, HELLS no... it was snoresville! i actually bailed halfway through, cos unlike alot of people it seems, i DO know how to use microsoft office, even tho im a mac girl at heart :-p
But i got to push myself. to change things up, and that included spontaneously hopping on my moped and scootaying over there superfast! cos lets face it, id BEEN on the bicycle, i didnt need to overdo that thing (and im still suffering the scars of last weeks kerfuffle with the dog/bike... i would update with pics, but somehow i doubt u really need to see the interesting shade of blue/green its currently rocking!) and i was short on time... no need to worry when you have wheels WITH an engine. BOOYAH!
DISCLAIMER: THIS IS NOT ME!!!
So im whizzing along... its sunny outside and im just a regular girl, zipping by on a cute little vespa with my FAB pink helmet and you know what... life is GOOD! :-) Ah, it put a little smile on my face and im not gonna hide that!
Anyhooooos. I think my positive mood is continuing on from a damn fine weekend, if i may say so myself!!! Yes, the boy came to stay... and yes, it was fun :-)
Im starting to feel more and more comfortable being open with him about stuff and not feeling like i have to "be" anything except myself! i mean, he sat through the entirety of sex and the city 2 WHILE giving me a foot rub... is he golden or WHAT?!?!?!

my tootsies were tres happy :-)
We talked abit about what we want from life and direction and stuff. Cos we both feel like we're in some kindof rut at the mo... he is a struggling musician, even tho his band are doing good things... he doesnt feel like he's getting what he wants done, which inevitably frustrates him! Especially when he has to jobhunt for work that he DOESNT want to do just to have abit of money. i feel his pain! He is bored of sitting about doing nothing and feeling lazy, while the rest of the world is flying past him, he feels like he's stuck in slow-motion, watching it all go past.
I on the other hand, have the job thing sorted (and id like to send up a big thankyou to the teaching GODS for letting me be happy and sorted on that front!!) But obviously my eating and exercise stuff is a major hurdle in my life....
So we decided to try and push each other to get more from our lives, challenge the things that are bothering us and get moving in the right direction.
its all about PRODUCTIVITY BABY!!!!
So his thing is finding a job he can tolerate to give him a sense of purpose while pursuing his real passion... music. He also wants to stop being a lazy bum and get active again!!! (he claims he can have a six pack by summer.... we'll see!!!) For me, i've decided to try and introduce one food that i dont have often (not necessarily a FEAR food, but something i dont feel 100% having all the time) into my diet and stick with it.... then when i can, i will also try to challenge myself to have a proper FEAR food once a week. The idea being, that then when we meet up at the weekends, we can check each others' progress! (and he said we can try and tackle the fear food one together, if that helps me...)
AHHH, right?!?!
I feel pretty good about this. Im feeling positive and I feel like by becoming more spontaneous and relaxing about being ok with people and venturing outside of my safe routine (ive gotta admit, i was crapping myself about having him to stay, messing with my routines and my eating etc... but it was FINE, he is totally understanding and doesnt judge!) Means i will continue to break down the walls that are blocking my recovery. Cos i know i want to TRY and break out of the routine. I just lack the accountability and commitment.
Im excited to make changes, the RIGHT changes... i feel like im learning new ways to fight against the ED thoughts and having someone on my side helps too! It feels good to be part of a team :-)
Whats you're mood been like lately?
Are you a team player or do you like to go solo??
