Not my best idea!

Cos usually im OH so full of good ideas! ahem, yeah. right.

Well Well my lovelies, its been a weird one to say the least! Friday is here and that means one thing.... THE WEEKEND!!! Exam week is officially over... yip yip. Which is good (for the kids) But now this means i have one mammoth mountain of marking to get through :(

but you know what....

It can wait. cos life comes first. right?!?! So this weekend im gonna relax, spend time with the boy (DVD update will come soon!) and work can come later :-) OOH im such a rebel!

Speaking of dvd's.... im yet to find out what he's bringing to the table, fingers crossed its nothing TOO out there! As for yours truly... ive got sex and the city 2 on lovefilm, so thats my token slice of girlification to keep him bored/amused!!! if he can sit through that AND pass comments on SJP's amaaaahzing wardrobe, then he's a keeper fo sho :-p

Anyway, i seem to have diverted from the topic of this post as per usual! So yeah, back to the point....

IM IN PAIN!

Now dont you worry, its nothing i cant handle (im a big girl!) but basically i had a little accident yesterday! Annoyingly, I had just had a really good day and been super productive so i thought id muti-task and take the dog home for the mumatron (who was tres busy preparing her stock) but i had my bike. Hmm. well ill just take the dog alongside... ive done it before, its ok. sure i wobble abit and i dont quite get that "wind in my hurr" feeling. but no biggie. OFF WE TROT!

i SHUD have bought one of these!!!

now i recently bought the pooch one of those extendable lead thingys, so she can run freeeeee. well since i rarely put her on the lead anyway, she was not exactly understanding of what this new lead entailled. And as im sure you can guess, the idea of "i can stop and the lead will carry on forever" was as far as her dog-sized brain capacity took her. So clever clogs me was cycling along happily, when BOOM. the dog stops to smell a post (why is it ALWAYS the stupid posts?!?!) so she stopped. the lead stopped. the BIKE stopped. and me?!? well no, i go with gravity man... so i did NOT stop. quite the opposite in fact...

I FLEW!!!!

yes my friends, i sailed off the bike and landed not so elegantly in a pile on the pavement. OUCH. i managed to get up and clamber back on the bike with no tears (hey, big girls dont cry!!!) and got home thinking i was ok! It was only when i checked out my sore elbow, hip and leg (all on the right side) i noticed that i was missing a chunk of my arm!

its not as bad as it looks but my GOD does it sting! this morning was nassssty. getting up and moving after a nice long sleep was tough on the old bod. i was stiff as anything!! but actually, im glad i was at work, cos it kept me moving and kept me distracted... i actually dont feel half as bad tonight. WINNING!!!

anyways, im a doofus. i hereby vow to NEVER try and cycle/dogwalk like tha again. its not worth the pain peeps!

Ive been covering myself in arnica cream to bring out the bruising, but it looks like im gonna go through some pretty epic colour/patterns before i get back to normal, Luckily ive already shown the boy my war-wounds, so i dont think he'll be TOO freaked out! anyways, i fully intend to be milking some sympathy for my pain!!! Mwaahahahaha!

Anyways.... have a fabulous weekend
just try not to do anything silly that might end up with you looking like this!!!!

yes i realise it looks like im trying to gnaw my own arm....
im special

Hope the "gore" didnt put you off your dinner!!!
Laters people :-)
xx

  2. Accck poor you! I hope your elbow starts feeling better soon. True story: my brother hit a kerb on his bike when he was a kid, and somehow the handle bars ended up...uh...between his legs. He had to go to accident and emergency and everything, poor thing! After liberal applying of arnica in intimate places he was absolutely fine, the doctor couldn't understand how he had recovered so quickly. So my mum is a believer and my brother is a thankful recipient :P and maybe that will make you glad it was only your arm that suffered!

  3. OUCH! Oh my goodness, that looks really painful!!
I can't even tell you how many times I have fallen when walking my dog...it's ridiculous...all I'm doing is walking! My feet always seem to get tangled together though. This one morning specifically I remember falling 2 or 3 times in one single walk...by the third fall my dog was looking at me like I was psychotic...LOL.
I'm sorry I have been absent from commenting lately, Clem! I have been reading though and thinking of you often. Keep fighting girl!!
