Does anyone else out there love chris moyles?!?!?!
cos i do!!!
I dont care what people say (he has his fair share of 'haters') but i think he's hilarious! i was listening to his show this morning as i took the pooch on her morning pee-stop (she's a classy gal) and in true friday fashion, he played mcfly's 'stargirl'... now im not a massive mcfly fan, theyre ok... but this song is FAB. not only is it upbeat and catchy, but it has now come to symbolise that friday feeling.... chris moyles always plays it on a friday (hence mcflyday) and it always puts me in a good mood :-)
Im a devoted listener of his show as it always coincides with my morning routine when im getting ready for school... and ive gotta say, it never fails to put a smile on my face. So this morning i was extra chuffed to listen, cos since holidays started ive been spending more quality time with my bed and so the 6:30 show start kindof got bumped in favour of a nice lie-in and fearne cotton's 10am show! But in my heart, ill always be true to moylsey :-p
Anyway, enough gushing radio love!!! Today has been a goooooood day :-)
i met up with my friend, who ive been meaning to catch up with for ages and finally plucked up the guts to stop wallowing in my ED self pity and venture out of the safety of my house, and y'know what.... i had fun! yup, just normal hanging out, sitting in the park FUN. i dont know what i was so scared of. Plus we bumped into some other friends and i was ok, i wasnt freaked out (altho i did worry what they might think of me and my weight) but they didnt look at me funny or make any comments... it was fine. no wait, better than that.... it was NICE!
Anyway, we didnt do much, but it was so good just to talk to someone who understands how i feel... he's been going thru some of his own problems and is also seeing a therapist, but to talk openly about stuff and not feel judged or weird, was such a masssive relief. im so glad i took that leap, cos now i dont have to hide away anymore :-)
We've already made plans to go see eclipse next week (it wasnt raining today so we made the most!) and i think i will be able to start getting out more and being more social again, i might even partake in a 'night out' soon.... ooh, look at me, going all crazy like a normal person!!! :-p
Seriously tho, it made me realise how much i missed having 'friends'... having people there who want me for me, not for how cool i am or how thin i look... they dont care about that. they dont care that i went AWOL for about 2 yrs and refused to see any of them... they still want me back. and THAT is worth a thousand smiles....
So stick that in your pipe ED, i dont need you at all, i have my friends!
"A friend is one who believes in you when you have ceased to believe in yourself."
Haha, so this has greatly helped my good mood, also if you read my blog you'll know that yesterday was the queens garden party, and guess what... i survived that too!
But i think that deserves a seperate bloggage, and since i still have to sort out my pics (yes, i managed to sneak some even tho cameras werent allowed! hehehe thankyou mr iphone, for your subtle camera-ing skills!) so that will come tomo, hopefully if i have time before heading upto london for, dun dun duuuuun. my last weekend of work till sept!! i asked to have august off so i could focus totally on my recovery and relaxing before the craziness of work kicks in again in sept... i want to be feeling fresh and in a better place by then, so any un-necessary stress is not welcome for one whole month :-)
PLUS im going on holiday,
ahhhhh some summer sun FINALLY!
But for now, reality is ok with me. I dont have to hide behind my fears anymore...
and that is a holiday in itself!
big loves xxxx

Yay for fun days out with friends! I have the same feeling towards it - sometimes I'll get so comfortable with being at home and in a "safe" (for ED...) environment that I FORGET how amazing it is to put ED out and just ENJOY normal things, like chilling at the park with friends. So simple, yet so freeing :)
ReplyDeleteCannot wait to see your pics (that you had to sneak...hahaha I love it!) and hear more deets on this ROYAL affair you attended ;D
